A friend of mine once commented to me that the way he can tell if a woman is older is if she has “wrinkled elbows.” I asked him what old elbows look like. He said that when elbows age, they get creases on them. He looks at women’s elbows before he asks them out on a date. If they look old, he doesn’t ask them out. I asked him if he gave out citations for this terrible crime.
The truth is that we all age and sometimes we focus on the obvious like a facelift. There is surgery for aging elbows I found out but I wouldn’t have thought about it. I am self-conscious though, knowing that there are people looking for possible signs of aging on my elbows.
Another sign of aging that we often overlook is the hands. A well-known plastic surgeon called out a very famous singer and said she had done a good job on her face and body with plastic surgery but that she had forgotten about her hands. He said her hands took away from her facelift and body. I wonder if she appreciated being called out for having aging hands that didn’t match her face.
While it is great to look and feel good about yourself, sometimes we can be too intense about every part of our face and body. There will always be something that still looks “old” e.g. toes, ankles, knees, etc. But it depends on how far we want to go and how much money we want to spend. Also, how much we care about what other people think.

That’s crazy, everyone ages, men and women
I will be careful to wear clothing that covers up my elbows if I know that there are people looking for aging elbows…
