What is GenSpace? Ask Wallis Annenberg and she’ll tell you about the amazing space she has created for Americans as they grow older. Wallis Annenberg is a philanthropist who has provided many donations for beneficial causes particularly in Southern California. Fortunately for those in Los Angeles, Gen Space has been created as a place where older Americans can experience things like horticulture, art, fitness, social connection, technology, and even financial education. It is a safe haven and a wonderful place to connect with others.
Wallis Annenberg thought of GenSpace after seeing many older adults alone without a cohesive space to socialize as well as proper access to resources. She realized that the increase in our older population would necessitate a place for community among older people. She also wanted to change the perception in our society about older adults as valuable members of society.
