No mother should have to hear the devastating news that her 15-year-old son was shot, but Justin Molina’s mother received the phone call that changed her life forever on December 13, 2020. Justin Molina was shot and he was rushed to the hospital in Visalia, CA.
Although Justin fought for his life, he suffered major blood loss and went into cardiac arrest. He suffered irreparable cerebral damage and lost his battle on December 20, 2020. Justin’s family made the decision to donate his organs. Justin lives on today through the lives he has saved. He donated seven organs. Additionally, his tissue could potentially enhance the lives of 75 people.
When a patient’s organs are donated, they are given an “honor walk” at the medical center which is a walk of respect and remembrance of a donor. During Justin Molina’s honor walk, only his mother and a few health professionals could be present due to COVID-19. There is usually a packed hallway in the hospital during an honor walk. The video of the honor walk for Justin Molina is one of the most heartbreaking. A mother alone with her son, saying goodbye for the last time. His favorite stuffed animal on his bed, a mother’s unbearable pain as she says goodbye while his bed is being wheeled away.
Death by gunshot for a teenage boy is devastating. Justin Molina had his whole life in front of him and will be missed terribly.

That is the saddest story ever
