I have to wonder about the way that insurance companies and doctors treat pregnancy. I was in labor and it hurt a lot, plus I had a cold. The contractions were increasing. That’s why I went into my doctor’s office so she could check to see how I was doing and when to admit me to the hospital. But I had to sit in the waiting room for the longest time just like everyone else. It was painful! Why couldn’t they at least let me go in a room or somewhere and lie down? Or take me faster than other patients? My doctor thought I should be admitted to the hospital but my insurance company said no. They said they would not cover it because it was too soon. So I had to check into a nearby hotel and wait. The pain was getting worse and I just lied on the bed. Finally the contractions were so bad that I tried to get to the door and I couldn’t make it. My husband took me to the hospital as fast as he could. Finally they admitted me. But of course I had to pay for the hotel room that I didn’t stay in. What a weird medical system.
