My husband used to work all the time. He was consumed with stress. He stopped caring about his health because business was more important. But stress takes its toll on your body, especially your heart. That’s how I became a widow. He had not been feeling well the day before. He said he was tired and had indigestion. The next day he still didn’t feel well. He collapsed in my arms. It was too late. The paramedics couldn’t resuscitate him. I became a widow.

Although it is tempting to be successful and do well financially, it cannot come at the risk of losing your life or your health. My husband was filled with stress. It was not good stress. It was the kind that fills every moment and impairs your health. It shows up in nightmares and sleepless nights.

My doctor told me that chronic stress causes heart disease, high blood pressure, heart failure and sudden cardiac death. I asked him about my husband whom he had also taken care of. He told me that his heart problems made me a widow. I live a quiet life now and I would live in a tent if I could have my husband back.

I share this so that people can understand that stress and the heart are not friends. If you have the opportunity to reduce your stress, it can lead to a happier life.

I’m so sorry about that. It made me think about my own lifestyle and how I never go to doctors even when I’m in severe pain.
