There are various illnesses that can creep up on you as you get older. As for me, I had good blood test results for a long time and then I was “pre-diabetes.” It’s hard to think that I am very close to being diabetic with no problems throughout my life. But certain illnesses are more common as you get older. I’ve read that most cancers are diagnosed in people over 55. Stroke, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease are also important to look out for. The main thing is to keep up on your health and watch for symptoms, go to checkups regularly, etc. The sooner you catch cancer and other problems, the easier it is to get treatment. As awful as it is to get a colonoscopy or get a physical, they are necessary.
