I have switched doctors several times since I became pregnant. I’m not sure if that’s normal but I believe that I have the right to find the best doctor for my delivery. I thought I found the right doctor when I first began. I got lots of recommendations but I have found that a doctor that is right for a friend might not be the right doctor for you.
The first doctor I went to told me that I am “stocky, not thin” and that I shouldn’t eat a lot during my pregnancy. He suggested an extra apple or something simple per day. While I hadn’t anticipated eating like a pig, I didn’t really feel that he needed to remind me not to eat much during my pregnancy. I am probably about 7 pounds overweight and already self-conscious. And while you’re pregnant you already feel bloated. So I left that doctor.
The next doctor put up a sonogram of my baby and couldn’t stop commenting on the size of my baby’s nose. He asked me if everyone has a big nose in my family. I told the doctor that as far as I know, no one has a particularly big nose on either side of our family. After that, all I could think about was that my baby was going to be born with a big nose.
The last doctor, whom I am currently with is sweet and I believe, sincere.
She seems to enjoy what she does and I also like her staff which is important. I might add that the previous 2 doctors I went to had difficult office personnel.
So overall, I feel that it is important to go with the obstetrician you like.
This is such an important time and so special to deliver a baby. If you don’t like the doctor, it could ruin the experience and add stress.

What a bunch of weird doctors
It’s such a special time that you have the right to find the doctor that feels right for you.
