Seven-year-old Tyler Moon was quite a hero in Australia when he saved his dad’s life. He and his dad were riding a motorbike together when they crashed. They were in the middle of nowhere and both were critically injured and near death. They tried to walk the long way back for help. But David Moon, Tyler’s dad couldn’t make it. He told his son to go on and get help. Tyler walked all the way back to their home and got his mother. What is amazing is that Tyler had punctured lungs, a chest full of blood, and most of his ribs were broken on his left side. He also had a broken left arm and shoulder. Yet he managed to walk all the way back to his home in order to get help for his dad who lay injured and unable to walk.
Tyler made it home but he collapsed in the front yard. His mother got help and a helicopter took him and his dad to the hospital. Young Tyler was assessed by the doctor who thought he had about a 50% chance of survival. Both Tyler and his dad survived and had a reunion at the hospital when they were better. Tyler was treated at Sydney Children’s Hospital in the intensive care unit. David Moon was treated at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.
David Moon feels fortunate to have a son who would have done anything to save his dad’s life. Tyler Moon is proud that he indeed saved his dad’s life. They are the best of mates.
